Yesterday was a big day for Jonathan. He can no longer count his age on one hand—he is six years old!
Jonathan started out his sixth birthday by unwrapping some Pokemon books while eating a cinnamon roll from Madison's Greenbush Bakery. We actually ordered two dozen so Jonathan could take some to share with his kindergarten classmates too. After school, and work, we let him choose the venue for his birthday dinner and he told us he wanted steak, Outback Steakhouse to be specific.
After dinner we had another surprise birthday present planned. We headed to the pet store where we told Jonathan that he could pick out a couple of fish to bring home. He was very excited. He chose a couple of guppys, tetras, and one snail. However, we didn't do our research and therefore only came home with an aquarium, no fish. Apparently you need to give the aquarium at least 24 hours to settle before adding any fish. Oops. Jonathan was bummed, but understood the situation. If all goes well, we hope to have fish in it by the weekend. We think six will be a good number to buy and also a very good year.
