In case you didn't know, I am a bit of a soccer fan. Not one of those overly aggressive types that engages in hand to hand combat after his favorite team loses a match, but a fan indeed. In fact, one of the only reasons I was on board with the decision to get HDTV was that I was really looking forward to this year's FIFA World Cup.
Four years ago during the last World Cup, I was able to persuade Jeanine to watch a few games with me in the middle of the night. Looking back, this probably had more to do with Jeanine's crush on Landon Donovan than anything else. This year however, with Germany as the host country, games are being played in the morning and middle of the afternoon our time. This means that while I will be sitting at work, Jeanine will be sitting at home watching the live broadcast and rubbing it in.
Only time will tell if Jonathan catches the Fußball bug like his Papa, and now Mama. My family has been helping out with the effort a bit by buying him soccer jerseys from around the world. The latest—an Ãmerica (a Mexican pro soccer team) uniform from my brother Dale who lives in San Diego.
